a first yet delayed blog entry & Intro to In the Dub of the Night

Ok folks,
I have never really made an effort to keep this blog alive, and give you show playlists, share links, live and recorded reviews etc....but this a new leaf I am turning over.
We be Dubbin!

My name is Nick McDubby and I do a Dub Reggae Radio show called In the Dub of the Night, in Saskatoon, SK. right in the middle of the praires of Canada.
I have been activly listening to dub for about 5-6 years now, and for about 2 years, I have been presenting and sending out my good vibes to those who tune in, wether it be on the airwaves on 90.5 fm in Saskatoon, or on the internet at cfcr.ca

Some of you may ask what is Dub:
Here is a quick a overview from Wikipedia:

"Dub is a form of Jamaican music, which evolved out of Reggae in 1960's Jamaica. The dub sound consists predominantly of instrumental re-mixes of existing recordings and is achieved by significantly manipulating and reshaping the recordings, usually by removing the vocals from an existing music piece, emphasizing the drum and bass frequencies or 'Riddim', adding extensive echo and reverb effects, and re-incorporating occasional snippets of lyrics from the original version."

Some of the artists you will hear on my radio show will include: Lee "Scratch" Perry, Keith Hudson, Mad Professor, King Tubby,Jah Shaka, Burning Spear, Sly and Robbie, Roots Radics, Scientist, Bill Laswell, Linton KWesi Johson, Jah Wobble,
Easy Star All Stars, The Congos, Kanka, High TOne, Augustus Pablo, Twilight Circus, De Facto, Glen Brown, The Aggrovators, The Rovolutionaries, The Hippy Boys, Max Romeo The Pioneers, The Heptones, The Gladiators, 10 Ft Ganja Plant, Augustus Clarke, Black Uhuru, and the Barret Brothers, Bullwackies All Stars, Ethinc Fight Band, Adrian Sherwood, and many more artists from all over the world, including, Jamaica, Poland, France, the UK and beyond.
